THE latest technological advancements to safeguard the elderly and vulnerable residents have been showcased in North East Lincolnshire.
The new equipment has been fitted to a demonstration bungalow at the Willows Older People's Mental Health Resource Centre to showcase their advantages to the area's care professionals.
It is hoped the newly-equipped bungalow will demonstrate how the area's vulnerable and elderly residents could live in the future.
Among the high-tech gadgets installed are fall detectors and medication reminders.
Councillor Steve Hocknell, portfolio holder for healthier communities and adult social care at North East Lincolnshire Council, said: "We are working together to ensure that residents have access to the latest in monitored alarm care, which we call Telecare.
"Many people will be familiar with Lifeline pendant alarms but Telecare offers a broad range of sensors that are placed round people's homes to alert care staff to potential problems.
"It includes technologies such as fall detectors and medication reminders that can be linked to a Carelink monitored alarm centre to give round-the-clock reassurance."
The project is a partnership arrangement between North East Lincolnshire Council, North East Lincolnshire Care Trust Plus (CTP) and Carelink. North East Lincolnshire Council has contributed £300,000 towards the development of Telecare equipment for the area.
