Goodbye and good luck!

The LINk members and staff bid Hayley a fond farewell.

Hayley has worked for the LINk for a year and a half as the LINk and Healthier Communities Administration Assistant.  A firm favourite with both volunteers and colleagues, Hayley will certainly be missed.

Guide Dog steals the show at LINk meeting

When Rachael Allison from the Guide Dogs for the Blind Association came to the monthly LINk meeting on Tuesday 19th July 2011 to give her presentation, she brought a friend with her.  Taya, a black Labrador, had no shortage of admirers and won over the LINk members in no time at all.

Our very special guest was just a hint of the meeting in store for them, Rachael gave a fascinating and engaging talk, involving her audience in the subject.  As Taya roamed the hall, giving everyone a chance to stroke her, Rachael blindfolded volunteers and passed around glasses that simulated sight problems.  She quizzed the group and got them voting fact or fiction on common misconceptions.

LINk Annual Report released

The North East Lincolnshire Local Involvement Network has released its Annual Report for 2010-2011.

LINk staff member Karry Stones has worked really hard to bring this about and her dedication has paid off with this report.

We've built on our success from last year and we've listened to your comments and feedback.  So we're having this year's Annual Report printed in a handy A5 size,  making it much easier for members and residents to carry.

Check it out here.

Diana Princess of Wales Hospital

The LINk staff have spent the morning talking to staff, patients and visitors at Diana Princess of Wales Hospital, encouraging local people to have their say on how their local health and social care services are run.

On the first Wednesday of every month, LINk staff do their best to raise awareness of Health and Social Care issues and promote the work the LINk does.

Volunteering puts Kirstie on course

Monday, August 17, 2009

FACED with the prospect of long-term unemployment, Kirstie Logan, 23, from Waltham, turned to volunteering to occupy her time – and she hasn't looked back.
After graduating from the University of Kent with a degree in English Literature and Creative Writing, she returned to her family home in North East Lincolnshire to search for work.
