Providing best service possible to dementia sufferers

SOCIALISING is a key aspect in providing dementia sufferers with a positive mind – and five memory cafes are currently doing just that.

Staff from the Alzheimer's Society in North and North East Lincolnshire run the cafes in Grimsby, Immingham and Cleethorpes on a regular basis.

They aim to bring sufferers together along with their carers in an environment which engages them in activities while they can obtain advice and support.

Depressed? Don't suffer in silence

MENTAL health professionals are urging people suffering with anxiety and depression to talk it out rather than suffer in silence.

Experts working in North East Lincolnshire want to highlight the fact that depression and anxiety problems are more prevalent than people might think and can affect any person at any time – and are more apparent in areas of social deprivation.

One in four people suffer with a mental health problem and health professionals at Open Minds, an organisation working with people who have depression and anxiety, are keen to get people talking more openly.

Health experts moved by plight of hospital

FROM Grimsby to Macedonia ... our health experts may soon be helping people living in south eastern Europe.

Two managers from the NAViGO health and social care community interest company – the organisation which manages mental health services in North East Lincolnshire – have recently returned from a fact-finding trip to the Balkan peninsula.
